United Captain Harry Maguire issues injury update

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire insists he will be
'back on the pitch soon' as he continues to battle a calf injury
suffered last month.

Maguire, 28, picked up the injury in defeat to Aston Villa back
in September and missed the subsequent matches against
Villarreal and Everton as a result.
The club captain was also not selected for international duty
with England during the current international break and
remains a doubt for United's match against former side
Leicester this weekend.
Speaking to club media about his setback Maguire revealed
he is yet to take part in a team training session since the
injury but that he hopes to be back in contention shortly.
“Yeah it's getting there,” Maguire Said
“I still haven't trained yet with the squad, but I am getting
better, I am progressing as I should be. It is obviously a
frustrating injury for me to get, but I am progressing and I
will be back on the pitch soon.”
Maguire's expected absence this weekend is the latest blow
to United after defensive partner Raphael Varane picked up
his own injury during the international break.
The France international will be out of action for "a few
weeks" after he picked up a groin injury which forced him to
limp out of the Nations League final triumph against Spain on
Sunday night.
The timeframe on Varane's absence is likely to mean he will
miss the game against Leicester, Atalanta, Liverpool and
Tottenham at least. United play six games in the next three
weeks before the November international break begins.
